| Casting is performed with a large header in which most of the voids are concentrated.
The header is subsequently cut off after cooling. The resultant block is dense and virtually
void free. Recommended for Scimos CS5, Z, and A. |

| Casting method is the same as DCL. Most voids have been removed from the block. |

| While annealing is in progress, shrinkage voids of approximately 6% of total volume
are formed under the casting gate. This block is generally used where such voids will not disrupt
ordinary glass furnace operation. |
| Premium castings, separately proposed herein, are suggested for specific
applications where the location of voids or their existence may create a problem. |
