Composed of virtually 100% beta alumina phase, SCIMOS H is completely
impervious to alkaline vapors. Further, owing to the platy interlocking formation of its beta alumina crystals,
it has the highest thermal shock resistance of all fused cast refractories.
SCIMOS H is therefore recommended for use in glass tank superstructures. Where there is a possibility of
contact with molten glass or batch carryover, SCIMOS M or CS-3 becomes the preferred choice. |
